Olympic athlete visits Boys & Girls Club

Waukesha native and triathlete Gwen Jorgenson recently visited the Cass Street School Boys & Girls Club, at 1647 N. Cass St. Students there exchanged gifts for her to take to the London for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Jorgensen is one of 13 U.S. athletes โ€“ who comprise Team Citi โ€“ for Citiโ€™s โ€œEvery Step of the Wayโ€ innovative digital program. The program supports the next generation of Americaโ€™s athletes, Citi has made a $500,000 donation to the U.S. Olympic Committee to launch โ€œEvery Step of the Wayโ€, benefitting future U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls and athletes of all ages in communities across America. Jorgensen identified Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and its Bicycle Recycling Program as inspiration for her journey to the Olympic Games. Jorgensen, attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and volunteered at the Cass Street School Boys & Girls Club as a way to give back to the community.
