What has fueled your company’s growth?:“Our growth is fueled by providing companies the most appropriate technology that specifically meets their needs and results in better processes and products. We see design and engineering teams running with a variety of tools and resources that don’t cohesively work together. We evaluate companies and their efficiency level and challenge them examine alternatives with the best suite of design and engineering solution offerings.”
What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth?:“One obstacle Graphics Systems is continually trying to improve on is the ability to quickly find and hire great people. We consistently strive to build on our great employee culture and proactively seek qualified individuals.”
Do you plan any changes in your company in the upcoming months?:“We strive to define a company culture and find employees who want to succeed and grow in that culture to achieve our goals. Going forward, we plan to build upon this culture, our goals, and objectives by building strategic alliances with a network of partners to better serve our customers.”
Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? And what traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them?:“I have been very fortunate to work with some great visionaries and entrepreneurial leaders that have shaped the mechanical design industry: Jon Hirschtick, the founder of SolidWorks Corporation was an incredible visionary. John McEleney, CEO of SolidWorks from 1997-2002, has a keen sense to focus on business issues and address them early; and Jeff Ray, CEO of SolidWorks from 2002 – 2008, who focused his efforts on making us a better business partner by coaching and optimizing our business and our skills.”
What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months?: “We continue to increase our 3D printer product line and service offerings to match the rising interest for 3D printing applications. Using an in-house 3D printer small enough to fit on their desktop, our customers have successfully minimized design time, costs and ultimately improved products with the ability to physically test their designs in engineering-grade plastic.”
What is your company’s most important growth strategy right now?: “Our company’s growth strategy is to continue to offer our customers with the latest 3D engineering technology to help them improve their business. Through our technology offerings, training, customer support, and dedicated resources, we strive to engage on a level with our customers where we know and understand their processes. To be able to offer a partnership and recognize areas for improvement is always top of mind.”
