One of the more spectacular construction jobs in Madison will be done under the cover of night but most assuredly won’t go unnoticed.
Workers are putting the finishing touches on two huge bridge spans that will be hoisted over the Beltline late Wednesday night into early Thursday. The bridge is the critical piece of the new Cannonball Path for bicyclists and pedestrians.
The bridge features two 180-foot-long steel spans connecting on supports in the median of the Beltline, said project engineer Tony Fernandez of the city’s Engineering Division.
