Nominees are being sought by the City of Milwaukee for the 2013 Frank P. Zeidler Public Service Award.
The honor is awarded annually recognizing city residents who best exemplify the former mayor’s legacy of social justice and civic accomplishment. The award was established by the Common Council for city residents with the exception of elected officials.
Alderman Robert Bauman, a member of the award’s selection committee, said he hopes individuals and organizations will once again submit nominations for the award.
“It is important that we, as a city, recognize the contributions of those who give of themselves for the greater good of the community and our society,” Bauman said.
Chaired by Milwaukee attorney Art Heitzer, the selection committee also includes Bauman, Jack Murtaugh, historian John Gurda and a representative of the Frank P. Zeidler Center for Public Discussion, Shelley Bruehling.
