Xtreme Stainless expands new Germantown facility

Xtreme Stainless LLC, a metal fabrication firm located in Sussex, is building a facility in Germantown nearly twice as large as originally planned.

The $2.3 million industrial building to be located on a 5.1-acre site at W104 N11005 Kleinmann Drive will now be 28,800 square feet opposed to 16,128 square feet, according to owner Rich Rutkowski. It will also include a 3,000-square-foot second floor, bringing the total size to 31,800 square feet.

He said the initial plan was to double the facility’s size in five years, but he decided to do it now due to an increase in sales over the last six months. Sales at Xtreme Stainless have grown at 20 percent a year for the last six years.

The Village of Germantown Plan Commission approved the plans on Oct. 27, and construction begins today. Rutkowski said construction will stop in four weeks before resuming again in the spring. The facility is expected to be ready in August of 2015.

Xtreme Stainless currently has five employees and plans to add three or four more once the move to the new building is complete, Rutkowski said. The company also plans to add at that time an additional $750,000 worth of new equipment.

Xtreme Stainless, which has been in business for about nine years, currently leases 10,000 square feet of space at N63 W22641 W. Main St. in Sussex. It will own the new Germantown facility.
