The NBA board of governors on Tuesday approved a group of new minority investors in the Milwaukee Bucks, but the league and team both declined to identify the new owners.

“The board approved a slate of new minority owners of the Milwaukee Bucks,” NBA Commissioner Nate Silver said in a press conference.

Silver said Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens also provided an update for the board about the prospects of building a new arena in Milwaukee.

Silver said he was “not frankly sure” about whether or not Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the new minority owners.

“Aaron Rodgers was not discussed today. I know Wes has told me that he’s had discussions with Aaron Rodgers. I don’t know exactly what the state is of those discussions with Aaron. I know that Wes Edens and his partner, Marc Lasry, are very focused on local ownership…The sense was he was very upbeat about the prospects of getting a new arena done, and he shared his optimism and enthusiasm with the other owners,” Silver said.

A spokesman for the Bucks said he had “no information” about a timetable for when the minority owners would be unveiled.

Edens and Lasry purchased the team earlier this year for $550 million and said they plan to add some local investors.
