Dohmen poised for dynamic year

As the New Year convenes, 2014 is shaping up to be another year of impressive growth for Dohmen Co.

The company recently announced it will move its corporate headquarters from Menomonee Falls to a 42,141-square-foot building, which the company recently purchased for $10 million, at 417 E. Chicago St. in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. The firm will move 110 employees to the Third Ward building during the third quarter of 2014.

A few days after the headquarters announcement, Dohmen announced it has acquired three technology companies: Milwaukee-based Red Arrow Labs, Milwaukee-based Clinical Path Consulting and Raleigh, N.C.-based ChemWare.

The companies will add applications development, data analytics, consulting services and hosting capabilities to Dohmen’s suite of health care services.

“Our life science and health care clients are increasingly interested in using technology to connect with and empower health care consumers; in particular, through the growing use of analytics and mobile applications,” said Cynthia LaConte, chief executive officer of Dohmen. “We wanted to bring valuable new skills to our clients, and these companies will do that. Red Arrow designs and develops unique applications, Clinical Path Consulting provides regulatory and IT advisory services to health care providers, and ChemWare offers critical information management solutions to the laboratory market. But we also wanted to find that new capability rooted in a common culture; one that operates from a place of purpose and trust.”

Mark Grosskopf, who founded two of the acquired companies and serves as president of all three, will remain in his position and also become chief information officer of Dohmen Life Science Services, which is a new biopharma and medtech brand that Dohmen plans to launch in March, said Carole Pfeil, senior vice president of marketing communications at Dohmen.

Red Arrow, Clinical Path and ChemWare will all retain their locations and employees, Pfeil said.
