The Milwaukee City Birthday Party will celebrate “The Future in Freshwater” with a public contest to name a special brand of bottled water to promote the city.
The Milwaukee Press Club, which presents the party each year, will produce a limited supply of commemorative bottled water that will be available to party attendees and to club members.
The public is invited to suggest a brand name and a tagline for the city’s bottled water in the contest at www.milwaukeepressclub.org/watercontest.
The City Birthday Party will take place Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin.
“The Press Club’s City Birthday party is the area’s top networking event – a must attend celebration,” said Marilyn Krause, senior editor of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and president of the Milwaukee Press Club. “And this year, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate Milwaukee’s great resource – Lake Michigan with its magnificent shoreline and its fresh water. We believe this precious resource will be a key strategic and competitive asset for the Milwaukee region throughout the 21st century, and we’re seeking an appropriate name to give to this limited edition of Milwaukee bottled water.”
The submitter of the winning bottled water name will be honored at the party. The water will be bottled by the Buffalo Water Beer Company and Milwaukee Brewing Company.
The public is invited to attend the party. For more information, visit www.milwaukeepressclub.org/events/details/66.
