New England Builders, of Skokie, Ill., is developing condos in HarborPark — an entertainment and residential district on Lake Michigan in downtown Kenosha.
The condos now being constructed offer lakefront living for as little as $90,000, but more opulent units are priced as high as $550,000.
"There is still a lot of product in the $140,000 to $225,000 range," Chris Rintz of New England Builders said, adding that three of six blocks are still under construction.
While last fall Rintz said 130 of the 245 units were sold, some of those deals fell through due to financing concerns according to New England sales executive Debbie Damiano.
"I know we sold three units this week — and so far 131 have sold," Damiano said.
According to Damiano, about 100 units have been completed and should see occupancy as early as July.
Many condo sales to date have been to residents of Illinois.
"I would say three quarters of the people that come through here are from Illinois," Damiano said.
