Milwaukee-based Joseph Property Development, LLC is proposing a six-story mixed-use building at the former Qdoba restaurant at the corner of North Prospect Avenue and East Ivanhoe Place.

The building would include 9,000-square-feet of retail on the first floor and an 80-unit apartment building on five floors.

The East Side Architectural Review Board will vote on the project Friday. If approved, Joseph plans on beginning construction immediately for a spring 2017 opening.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited about it and believe strongly in the location,โ€ said developer Robert Joseph. โ€œThis is a very pedestrian friendly area with neighborhood conveniences and a first-rate site for a Class A apartment building.โ€

This would be the third project in the neighborhood for Joseph, who redeveloped the Prospect Mall property, 2217 N. Prospect Ave., into a 52-unit apartment building called The Overlook on Prospect. Josephโ€™s other project is Edge on North apartments, at the former Pizza Man restaurant, 1800 E. North Ave.

Rinka Chung Architecture is designing the project.
