Zilber changes Towne Investments brand name to Zilber Property Group

Organizations:

Milwaukee-based Zilber Ltd. today announced that it has changed the brand name of its commercial real estate operations from Towne Investments to Zilber Property Group.

The Zilber Property Group also announced today that it has established a new Chicago area office at its recently purchased Tri-Center Properties, a 140,837 square foot three-building light industrial portfolio located in the Village of Elk Grove Industrial Park adjacent to O’Hare International Airport.
The Towne Investments name was tied to the original name of Zilber Ltd., Towne Realty Inc. The company was founded by Joseph Zilber in 1949. Zilber created the Towne Realty name as he sat in a downtown restaurant and looked across the street at the Towne Theatre.

Zilber died last year at the age of 92.

“With Mr. Zilber’s passing in 2010,  we decided that the most appropriate way to move forward and expand the company’s commercial real estate operations and holdings was to adopt a brand name that better reflects its current business activities while at the same time honoring its founder,” said Jim Borris, president of Zilber Ltd.

The new name for Zilber’s commercial real estate operations is reflective of the growth of the company, said executive vice president John Kersey.

“The Towne name has been useful historically for marketing purposes in greater Milwaukee, but as we continue to expand our commercial real estate presence in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties and along the I-94 Chicago/Milwaukee corridor as well as other markets throughout the country, we felt it was important to have a brand name that more accurately reflects the transformation of our commercial real estate activities in recent years,” said Kersey. “The Zilber Property Group name honors the history, strength and diversity of the Zilber Ltd. and Towne Realty Inc. organizations.”
