Hartland manufacturer issues nationwide recall of healthcare products

Hartland-based Triad Group, a manufacturer of over-the-counter healthcare products last week initiated a voluntary recall of all of its private label lots of alcohol prep pads, swabs and swab sticks. The company said the recall was due to concerns from a customer about potential contamination by Bacillus cereus, which the customer feels is an objectionable organism.

Alcohol prep pads, swabs and swab sticks are used to disinfect before an injection. Triad Group said, in a news release, that it has received one report of a non-life threatening skin infection after use of one of its products that is being recalled.

The recalled products are being sold across the country in retail pharmacies, and can be identified by Triad Group being listed as the manufacturer. Some of the products are being sold under brand names such as Cardinal Health, PSS Select, VersaPro, Boca/Ultilet, Moore Medical, Walgreen’s, CVS, or Conzellin.

Consumers who have the products that are being called are asked to call (262) 538-2900 for instructions on how to return and exchange them.
