Wisconsin companies listed in Fortune 500

Ten Wisconsin companies took spots on the Fortune 500 listing released yesterday.

Fortune magazine’s annual ranking of America’s largest corporations included Glendale-based manufacturer Johnson Controls at No. 67, with $42 billion in revenues.

Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company came in at No. 114, with $26 billion in revenues. Milwaukee workforce solutions firm ManpowerGroup was ranked 140, reporting revenues of $20.7 billion.

Menomonee Falls-based retailer Kohl’s Corp. was listed at No. 148, with $19.3 billion in revenues.

Oshkosh manufacturer Oshkosh Corp. came in at No. 322, with revenues totaling $8.2 billion. American Family Insurance Group, based in Madison and with $6.5 billion in revenues, was ranked 393.

Milwaukee industrial automation company Rockwell Automation Inc. was listed at No. 403, with $6.3 billion in revenues. Joy Global Inc., a Milwaukee mining equipment manufacturer, ranked 446 on the list.

Motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson Motor Co., based in Milwaukee, came in at No. 449. And Neenah-based flexible packaging manufacturer Bemis Company Inc. was listed at 479.

The top 10 companies were Wal-Mart Stores, with $469.2 billion in revenues, followed by Exxon Mobil, with $449.9 billion, Chevron at $233.9 billion, Phillips 66 with $169.6 billion, Berkshire Hathaway at $162.5 billion, Apple with $156.5 billion, General Motors at $152.3 billion, General Electric with $146.9 billion, Valero Energy with $138.3 billion and Ford Motor at $134.3 billion.
