New Berlin industrial automation software developer WEM Automation has been acquired by Madison-based mergers and acquisitions firm The Mendota Group. Milwaukee M&A advisory firm Pentvia Partners advised WEM shareholders in the transaction.
WEM is active in the animal feed and asphalt manufacturing industries, where it helps automate processes through design and development of software and control systems. The company recently entered a joint venture with Muyang Group, a feed milling equipment manufacturer in China.
“For the past 25 years WEM has made it a priority to do whatever was needed to take care of customers,” said Ernie Bollinger, chairman and CEO of WEM. “My goal was to find a buyer that would nurture and grow the business, while continuing to take the best care of our customers and employees. Mendota Group was a perfect fit.”
The Mendota Group targets small and medium businesses in the upper Midwest for acquisition.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with the team at WEM to continue developing and delivering great products and services to the market, and building on the strong brand WEM has created over the years,” said Curtis Burgess of The Mendota Group.
