Waukesha-based Comstar LLC, is about to redefine the type of Internet marketing services it provides to help customers adapt to a constantly changing marketplace, according to Joseph Como Jr., the company’s vice president.
"We offer a full range of services, from Web design, production and Web hosting to development of Internet marketing plans," he said. "Our goal is to drive traffic to the Web sites we develop."
Over the past four years, Comstar has increased its revenue by about 80 percent to almost $800,000 in 2004. The company plans to continue its growth with a larger staff, Como said.
"We’re going to grow our sales team, which will make a see-saw action," he said. "Once we grow our sales, it will put pressure on the production side until we have to grow it. I would like to double our employment in the next five years."
Comstar works closely with its clients to determine their needs and how best to meet those needs, Como said. The company also integrates a client’s Internet marketing plan into the rest of its marketing and promotional material.
In addition, Comstar designs and builds custom Web applications that are designed to add functionality to a client’s Web page, and provide better solutions.
"That is a differentiating factor for our business. A high school kid can get software and program a Web page, but ours actually work to do something for our clients," said Jeffery Kirk, the company’s president.
"We have professional graphic designers and professional Web programmers on our staff, so we can create some really great sites that combine visual appeal and functionality," Como said.
The company will continue to be driven by the pursuit of building trusted relationships with clients, Kirk and Como said.
"We have a handful of key core values that really permeate through our business," Como said. "We have deeply held commitments to these values."
Building trusting relationships through open and honest dialogue and actions has been a key to Comstar’s success as the company assessses the services a client needs, Como said.
"We cut to the heart of the issue," he said. "What makes us unique is that whenever possible, we incorporate our clients’ talents into the plan. If a client has the ability to program, we use that ability to drive down the costs for out clients, and so they have more ownership in the process."
