Wauwatosa-based WaterStone Bank has announced it will renew its “K’s for a Cause” program with the Brewers Community Foundation.
WaterStone started the program in 2014 in cooperation with Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada. Together, the pitcher and the bank donated $19,500 to Sojourner Family Peace Center by pledging a donation for each strikeout recorded at Miller Park by a Brewers pitcher. Last year, there were 664 strikeouts at Miller Park.
This year, pitcher Kyle Lohse will assist WaterStone in raising funds for the Peace Center.
WaterStone and the Peace Center will each have a logo on display on the “strikeout meter” in right field at Miller Park.
“We are thrilled to partner with Kyle Lohse and the Brewers Community Foundation in supporting Sojourner’s mission to protect victims of family violence and create peaceful communities,” said Doug Gordon, president and chief executive officer of WaterStone Bank. “WaterStone is honored to renew our sponsorship of K’s for a Cause this season.”
