Two new Walmart stores open today in the Milwaukee area.
A 147,800-square-foot Walmart store will open at 4140 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Milwaukee. The site is a block east of the Miller Park Way retail corridor.
A 115,000-square-foot Walmart store will open at 222 N. Chicago Ave. in South Milwaukee.
Both stores will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Combined they will have 540 employees.
The stores are part of a Walmart building boom in the Milwaukee area in recent years. Walmart has opened new stores in Milwaukee, Menomonee Falls, Wauwatosa, Greenfield and Greendale in recent years.
