Von Rothenburg Bier Stude, located in Germantown for nearly 20 years, has been reopened this week by new owner Chaz Hastings.

Located at N116 W15863 Main St. in Germantown, the Von Rothenburg Bier Stube is a German style bar and restaurant modeled after the small corner bier pubs found in the historic centers of Germany.

Hastings has operated several local businesses, including Tally Ho, Madame Belles, Bottoms Up and Milwaukee Harley Davidson.

Hastings said he and his staff want to maintain Bier Stube’s classic appeal while adding in new options.

“We’re all very excited to be working on such a unique and beloved venue in Germantown,” said Hastings. “In a large part, what we hope to do with Bier Stube is simply take some of the more popular aspects from the past and expand them. For instance, the Stein Club was always a big hit and it’s going to be an important part of our new business too.”

Having lived and worked in Germany, Bier Stube’s general manager, Josh Neureuther, said the group is making every efforts to create an authentic, German Beer Hall experience.

“We will offer 10 classic German beers on tap, all served in the proper liter and half liter glass of course,” said Neureuther.  “As we get into warmer weather, Bier Stube will offer an expand beer garden, and for special events, Spanferkel (pig roast) and Grill Hendl (spit roasted chickens). Using our social media platforms and website, we will continually post updates, event plans and other activities each week”.
