Trocadero Café, located at 1758 N. Water St. on the East Side of Milwaukee, will be closed after Valentine’s Day weekend for major renovations and will reopen in the spring.
The restaurant is owned by Diablos Rojos Restaurant Group partners Mike Eitel and Eric Wagner.
“We’ve been realizing its just time to utilize the space better and to give the place the love it really needs,” Eitel said. “This little café has seen a massive amount of traffic, multiple changes, and a fair amount of abuse over the last decade. We realized that doing a spring tune up was just not quite enough. Once we really started looking at what the space needed to have done, we realized its basically like opening a whole new restaurant. We see this as a major opportunity to get ready for the next ten years. We never like to close, but February is by far our slowest month and with the Humboldt Avenue bridge still out, it’s a no-brainer to get it done before summer arrives.”
