Milwaukee-based Tripoli Country Club has formed an agreement with the Wisconsin Athletic Club that would offer all adult members Tripoli and their significant others a membership to the WAC for no additional charge, beginning Jan. 1.
“Our members have asked for a fitness component for a long time, and now they have it,” said David Coffey, general manager and chief operating officer of Tripoli. “It is really something that will add value to their membership and something that really makes us a totally rounded country club.”
Tripoli offers a full 18-hole golf course, dining and banquet facilities, tennis courts and outdoor pools, but does not have a fitness component, Coffey said.
Tripoli officials knew they needed to add a fitness component and sought out the WAC, with its seven locations around metro Milwaukee, including a downtown location, that would be convenient for members, Coffey said.
In November, Tripoli also implemented a partnership with The Club Corp of America, which gives its members access to 250 clubs, resorts and golf courses nationwide at no additional charge to them.
“We are always striving to make sure our members get what they want, and certainly if our members are happy, the advantage is that our membership will grow,” Coffey said. “This is a really unique opportunity for our members. No one else in the Milwaukee area is doing it.”
