Treetop Publishing will move from Franklin to Milwaukee

Organizations:

Treetop Publishing, which provides blank books, blank puzzles and other blank products for children to create with, recently purchased a 25,000-square-foot building at 450 S. 92nd St., Milwaukee. The company will move to the 59-year-old Milwaukee facility from its current location in a 10,200-square-foot space that it leases in the Franklin Business Park.

The company, which has eight employees, bought the Milwaukee building for $685,000, or about $27.40 per square foot, from Allan Knox Inc. Treetop Publishing was represented by Brett Garceau and Curt Pitzen of NAI MLG Commercial and Allan Knox Inc. was represented by Paul McBride and Bob Flood of RFP Commercial.

The company needed more space and president Jeff Meyers said he wanted a city of Milwaukee location.

“We wanted to get a Milwaukee address, because most of our customers are from around the country,” he said. “Franklin, Wisconsin didn’t tell them where we were located.”

The company also needed additional space, Meyers said. The company’s headquarters is used mostly for distribution and customer service. Some assembly is done there, but most of the production work is contracted out.

The company’s blank books and other blank products are primarily used by schools to allow students to create their own books or games.

“We’re not very creative but we hope our customers are,” Meyers said.
