Tyme Inc., a New York-based clinical-stage pharmaceutical company, on Tuesday announced that former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson will be appointed to its board of directors in the third quarter of 2015. Thompson, who also served as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services under former President George W. Bush, is currently an advisor to Tyme’s board.
“We are extremely proud to have gathered such a notable board of directors to help lead Tyme,” said chief executive officer Steve Hoffman. “We believe we have the potential to become a major player in the oncology space and feel confident that the collective–and highly impressive–experience of our board will provide the strategic guidance necessary to advance the development of our novel, proprietary treatment regimen, which we believe to be a first-in-class drug that harnesses the body’s own immune defenses to fight tumor cells.”
Tyme is focused on discovering and developing highly targeted cancer therapeutics for a broad range of oncology indications.
