NBC News anchor and well-known journalist Tom Brokaw will address the Medical College of Wisconsin at the college’s Center for Digestive Disease Heathcare 2012 Dinner on Monday, Nov. 12.
Brokaw, who has devoted his entire career to NBC News, contributed to more than 30 documentaries, and published New York Times bestselling books, will focus his keynote speech on “The Voice of a Generation.”
The dinner will be hosted by the Medical College’s Digestive Disease Center Board comprised of 33 community leaders spreading awareness of digestive diseases and working to raise research funds.
The event will also honor Jon and Ann Hammes with the Warren P. Knowles Humanitarian Award, which recognizes individuals or initiatives in Wisconsin committed to public service, education and making a difference in a health-related issue. Jon founded and helps manage Hammes Co., an organization that creates health care facility solutions.
Both Jon and Ann have actively served as community leaders, volunteering and participating on the boards of nonprofits like United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.
The dinner will be held in the Pfister Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, 424 E. Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee. Registration and the event reception will start at 6 p.m. with dinner scheduled for 7 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m. Ticket costs start at $500 and are now available for purchase.
