Chicago-based affordable furniture chain, The RoomPlace, is planning its first Wisconsin location.
The 6,200-square-foot store will be located at Kenosha’s Southport Plaza at 7014 Green Bay Road, according to plans submitted to the city.
Other stores at the plaza include Kohl’s, Party City, Gordmans, Petco and Hobby Lobby.

Plans show that The RoomPlace hopes to begin construction on the store by June for a December 2018 opening.
Representatives from the company could not be reached for comment.
According to the company’s website, The RoomPlace has 24 stores in the Chicagoland and greater Indianapolis areas and has been in business since 1912.
