The Rock Sports Complex, formerly known as Crystal Ridge, will celebrate its grand opening with an open house this weekend, July 19-21, at 7900 W. Crystal Ridge Drive in Franklin.
The Rock is a sports complex consisting of ballparks, bike parks, snow parks, and an umbrella bar. The celebration and open house will include a cookout, sports activities, a movie and live music.
The weekend celebration will kick off with a “Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville” cookout party at the Umbrella Bar, followed by a youth-baseball open house, Rock League baseball and an outdoor movie.
A limited number of slots are available in Saturday’s “Home Run Derby” for both youths and adults. The derby will award prizes in three age divisions. To register or to volunteer as a catcher in the outfield, contact AlisonG@rockcomplex.com.
Saturday activities will conclude with live music from Uprising, formerly The Boogie Men.
Throughout the celebration, the public is invited to try out The Rock’s new downhill Bike Park and cross-country trails.
The Rock Sports Complex is a joint initiative between Zimmerman Ventures, Milwaukee County Parks and the City of Franklin. The complex promotes youth and community development through a common passion for sports and recreation, at both the practice and tournament levels.
