Texas campgrounds market to those traveling to Superbowl

The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) usually spends its winter months marketing its campgrounds, RV Parks and resorts to travelers from northern states in the country. Now, with two northern teams making it to Super Bowl XLV, the campground owners hope to lure fans with a new website dfweventsandcampgrounds.com.
Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) typically spends the winter months marketing campgrounds, RV parks and resorts to snowbirds and other travelers seeking a sunny refuge from cold weather up North.
“Our visitor traffic has already tripled since we launched the website last fall,” said Brian Schaeffer, executive director and CEO of the statewide campground association.
According to Schaeffer, the website will help RV enthusiasts pinpoint campgrounds that are located near Dallas Cowboy Stadium and other popular special event venues.
In addition to Dallas Cowboy Stadium, the website includes calendar information about a wide range of special events and links to American Airlines Center, the State Fairgrounds in Dallas and links to Dallas/Fort Worth area RV dealers that rent RVs.
“We think this website will become an increasingly important travel and activity planning tool for RVers and even residents who live in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area,” Schaeffer said.
Earlier this week, Funjet Vacations in Bayside started offering non-stop flights from Milwaukee and Green Bay that started at $999.99 per person. Full packages including game tickets, air fare and hotel accommodations reportedly start around $5,000 per person.
