The Waukesha location, at 801 E. Sunset Drive, is scheduled to open this summer. It will be Meijer’s sixth store in Wisconsin. A Sussex location is also opening this summer. Existing locations are in Grafton, Kenosha, Wauwatosa and Oak Creek.
"The Waukesha store is still expected to open later this summer," said Joe Hirschmugl, public relations manager for Meijer. "We will confirm opening dates approximately six weeks out and the gas station is expected to open about 30 days before grand opening."
The positions open in Waukesha include clerks, cake decorators, customer service, cashiers, receiving and meat cutters. Candidates can apply at https://jobs.meijer.com/new-stores. Leaders will review the applicants and begin scheduling interviews over the next several weeks.
Meijer also has plans to open stores in West Bend, Sheboygan and Greenfield.
The retailer has 223 total stores in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Each Meijer store is about 192,000 square feet in size and features general merchandise and full grocery departments.
