State officials announced $360 million in affordable housing tax credits for affordable housing projects in the state, including 18 projects in southeastern Wisconsin.
Ten of the projects are in the city of Milwaukee.
The largest tax credit award, $7,367,333, went to the Housing Authority of Milwaukee for the redevelopment of the Westlawn public housing complex, located southwest of Silver Spring Drive and North 60th Street. The project will include 250 new units of single family homes, duplexes and multifamily rental housing.
The second largest tax credit award, $2,345,310, went to General Capital Group for its 140-unit Beerline B Apartments project, to be located at the northeast corner of East Pleasant and North Commerce streets along the Milwaukee River.
