The School Sisters of St. Francis’ recently held a “ground blessing” ceremony to celebrate the start of construction for a 72-unit independent senior and assisted apartment building on the grounds of the sisters’ St. Joseph Center campus at 1501 S. Layton Blvd., on the south side of Milwaukee.
The building will provide housing for seniors and members of the clergy. Construction is expected to be complete in 2013.
