Small business owners, sole proprietors and nonprofit executives are invited to learn more about their options for health care insurance by attending the Milwaukee Press Club’s next Newsmaker Luncheon, which will feature Bob DeVita, chief executive officer of the Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative.
The Newsmaker Luncheon will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub in downtown Milwaukee, 137 E. Wells St.
At the Newsmaker Luncheon, DeVita will discuss how small business owners, nonprofits and individuals can apply for health care insurance coverage through the Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative.
Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative is a member-governed and 0operated health care company serving 19 counties in eastern Wisconsin. The cooperative’s mission is to deliver the finest in affordable health care solutions to individuals, small businesses and nonprofits throughout Wisconsin.
Founded in 2012, the company will begin insuring residents in January 2014.
Prior to becoming CEO of the Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative in Milwaukee, DeVita served as an executive in various academic medical practices in Wisconsin, Virginia and Tennessee, followed by stints in HMO leadership for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Tennessee, as well as chief administrator for Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wis. DeVita also served as a senior health care leader for Ministry Healthcare and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
DeVita will be interviewed at the Newsmaker Luncheon by a panel of journalists. The event will be moderated by BizTimes executive editor Steve Jagler.
The public is invited to attend.
The Milwaukee Press Club presents the Newsmaker Luncheons to shed light on issues of the day. The cost to attend is $18 for MPC members, $23 for non-members and $13 for students. Lunch is included.
