Glorioso’s repairing damage at Third Ward building
Cracked pipes that leaked recently caused water damage at Glorioso’s Third Ward warehouse building on East Corcoran Avenue. Crews are working to dry out the building and repair the damaged pipes, said Felix Glorioso. Glorioso’s Italian Market, located on Brady Street on Milwaukee’s East Side, uses the 38,000-square-foot, 109-year-old Third Ward building to store olives, oil, pasta, tables and equipment, Glorioso said. Most of the old warehouse buildings in the Third Ward have been converted to other uses. Glorioso’s has not sold their building, in part because “the right number never came up,” Glorioso said. In addition, he said, “we still need it. We have no place to go (for storage) at the present time.” The family is still discussing its future plans for the Third Ward building, but could lease the building to others for storage usage. The building has refrigeration units that appeal to food wholesalers, Glorioso said.
