DGM Development, the owners of an Irish pub in Madison, recently purchased the 127-year-old, two-story, 3,200-square-foot building at 1850 N. Water St. in Milwaukee, from Five & Ten Tap LLC. The building is located three blocks north of Brady Street, a popular street of shops, bars and restaurants on the city’s east side. DGM plans to open an Irish pub in the building. It will be the second location for the pub, called Brocach Irish Pub. The Madison location is at 7 W. Main St., on the Capital Square. The sale of the property was brokered by John Bergh, Cory Sovine and Tim Rikkers, all of Siegel-Gallagher Inc. DGM bought the building for $550,000, well above the $292,000 assessed value for the property, according to city records. The building was formerly the home of a small bar called the Five & Ten Tap, which closed a few years ago. "They plan on spending an awful lot of money on Water Street to take it to the highest and best use," Bergh said. "(Brocach Irish Pub) is really a high quality operation."
