Learn more about:

Racine-based Fischer Precise USA Inc., a precision machine tooling shop that builds custom spindles for CNC machines, recently completed a $500,000 renovation of its 38,000 square foot facility.

The renovation, which doubled floor space in repair areas, added 1,000-pound cranes and the creation of 8,000 square feet of reassembly space, 4,000 square feet of disassembly and analysis space, and 1,000 square feet of test and run-in space, will allow Fischer Precise to now repair components made by its competitors, said Ryan Brath, president.

"We knew that 2009 looked like it would be a down year so we positioned ourselves to enter new markets," he said. "This renovation supports and expands our mission to be a service center of excellence for our market and provide reliable, convenient service options for customers seeking a better value in the repair of their spindles."

Fischer Precise has 48 employees – 10 of whom were added last year. The company is forecasting flat sales levels, at best, for this year.

"We are planning to be down 10 percent, but we’re taking steps to avoid that," Brath said.
