Ground has been broken for construction of a 16,100-square-foot building for Razor Sharp Fitness, a new full-service fitness club in Racine.
The facility is going up at 7300 Washington Ave., across from Case High School.
Architecturally designed to create a spacious and open atmosphere, the facility will have 20-foot-high ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows that span the entire front and two sides of the building. “We want to offer our members an appealing workout environment by creating an atmosphere that is bright, open and filled with natural light,” according to Terri Bannon, one of the owners of the business.
Catering to the adult fitness market, the facility will include: cardio equipment, a weight training area, an aerobics room, a Spinning room, a spa area, locker rooms, and a supervised play area for children.
The project developer, Joe Mrazek of Midwest-Interstate Realty Corp., expects completion of the facility in February. The owners of Razor Sharp Fitness include Mike and Terri Bannon and Shawn and Karre Feuker.
