The PyraMax Bank branches in West Allis and in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward neighborhood will close at the end of the year.
On Tuesday, 1895 Bancorp of Wisconsin Inc., the holding company for Greenfield-based PyraMax, announced its plans to close the two branches, located at 8001 W. National Ave., West Allis, and 318 N. Water St., Milwaukee.
The changes are scheduled to take effect Dec. 31, according to a news release.
“We looked at the expense of the two branches and looked at the transaction volume and decided it would be in our best interest to consolidate the branches and reduce the costs,” Richard Hurd, president and chief executive officer of PyraMax, said in the release.
Hurd was not immediately available for further comment.
Customers at these branches will have their accounts transferred to the bank’s Greenfield branch, located at 7001 W. Edgerton Ave.
PyraMax was established in 1895. According to its website, the bank also has full-service branches in Franklin, Grafton, Mukwonago, South Milwaukee and Waukesha.
