The Forest County Potawatomi Community plans to build a larger parking structure to accommodate the new 18-story, 381-room hotel it is building at Potawatomi Bingo Casino in the Menomonee Valley in Milwaukee. The hotel is expected to open late summer or early fall of 2014.
The tribe originally submitted plans to buld a four-level, 480-stall parking structure on the southeast corner of its property at 1721 W. Canal St. But now it plans to build a six-level, 1,400 space parking structure.
“The larger structure will better serve the needs of the casino and the hotel and help to assure that these facilities achive maximum performance,” the tribe said in a submission to the city.
The new parking structure will increase parking capacity at the casino to 6,600 spaces.
The tribe also wants to add a pedestrian connection between the new parking structure and the 16th Street viaduct.
