Versant, Milwaukee, hired Shawn Spartz as a Web solutions architect and programmer and Heather Goranson as marketing coordinator for the new business development team. Spartz has more than seven years of experience in custom Internet programming and application development. Goranson holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Marquette University.

Avicom Marketing Communications, Waukesha, hired Melissa Bohl as an account coordinator and Lori Johnston as art director. Bohl holds a bachelor’s degree in arts and communications from UW-Whitewater. Johnston has 11 years of experience in design and holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from UW-Milwaukee.

Lisa Manna joined Boelter + Lincoln, Milwaukee, as account executive in the public relations department. Manna previously served as a reporter for WBAY-TV, Green Bay. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Columbia College.

Jennifer Wagner joined Interarc, a division of Torke Wirth Pujara, Wauwatosa, as interior designer.  

Banking & Finance

USA Funding, Brookfield, hired Jacquelyn Hoffman, Scott Lee and Olivia Lopez as loan consultants; Lori Prendergast as an account manager for sales; Stephen Glover as a funder; and Hilary Pelican as a closing coordinator.

Waukesha State Bank, Waukesha, promoted Paula Neis to vice president and Becky Green to officer.

Neis joined Waukesha State Bank in 1986 and most recently served as an officer. Green joined Waukesha State Bank in 1997 and most recently served as manager of deposit services.

Building & Construction

Regency Builders, Pewaukee, hired Reid Brueser, as vice president of sales; Marijo Reed as design and selection coordinator; and Pat Hietpas as remodeling specialist and estimator.

The Bentley Company, Milwaukee, hired Tom Corso as project accountant and Barb Monk as marketing coordinator and administrative assistant. Corso has 15 years of experience as an account manager and consultant providing software support to contractors. Corso holds an associate’s degree from UW-Oshkosh.

The Milwaukee office of Opus North, Rosemont, Ill., hired Benjamin Baenen and James DeGuire as associate project managers. Baenen previously worked for M.A. Mortenson, Minneapolis. DeGuire previously worked for Air Flow Architectural, Milwaukee; Riley Construction Company, Kenosha, and Berghammer Construction, Butler.

Al Dawydiuk joined Creative Constructors, Menomonee Falls, as project superintendent. Dawydiuk has 35 years of experience in the construction industry.

VJS Construction Services (VJS), Waukesha, promoted Jason Schneider to project manager. Schneider has been with VJS for about five years and most recently served as assistant project manager.

Donna Heddings joined PDC Midwest, Hartland, as controller. Heddings previously worked for Johnson

Controls, Glendale. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mount Mary College.

Education

Caroline Krider of the Milwaukee office of U.S. Bank, Minneapolis, will serve as president of the board of directors for St. Francis Children’s Center, Milwaukee. Laura Rauman of Vista 360, Milwaukee, will serve as vice president; Michael Schueller of the Milwaukee office of Wells Capital Management, San Francisco, will serve as treasurer; and Kathi Ruegsegger of Pierce Milwaukee will serve as secretary.

Engineering

John Tsouflias joined Applied Technologies, Brookfield, as a structural project engineer. Tsouflias holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from UW-Milwaukee.

Crispell-Snyder, Lake Geneva, hired Mandy Nelson as a marketing assistant; Michael Frane as an inspector in the Milwaukee office; and Robert Larson as an inspector at the Racine office.

The Milwaukee office of Strand Associates, Madison, hired Philip Bzdusek and Virginia Wendt in the municipal group. Ryan Amtmann relocated to the Milwaukee office from the Madison office. Bzdusek holds a doctoral degree in engineering from UW-Milwaukee. Wendt holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from UW-Madison. Amtmann joined Strand in 1996 and will serve in project management, engineering and marketing capacities.

Organizations

Alfred Miller, a clinical audiologist and hearing instrument specialist for Hearing Associates, Hales Corners, will serve on the business advisory council for the National Republican Congressional Committee, Washington, D.C. Miller will serve the state of Wisconsin.

Health Care

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, hired Joseph Carroll as assistant professor of ophthalmology and biophysics and David Clark as assistant dean for clinical research. Carroll is a researcher currently using color blindness as a model to study retinal disease. Clark previously served as the Stanley G. Harris Professor of Psychiatry for Rush University Medical Center,

LutheranLiving Services, Wauwatosa, promoted Allison Katula to vice president of Harwood Place Retirement Community. Katula most recently served as director of volunteer services for LutheranLiving Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Rollins College.

Tim Rice joined Pine Haven Christian Home, Sheboygan Falls, as director of human resources. Rice has 30 years of business experience and most recently worked for Shelter for Life International, Oshkosh.

Hospitality

Judi Murphy, vice president of Murphy Associates, Your Marketing Department, Brookfield, will serve on the board of directors of the Brookfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, Brookfield. Murphy will represent the City of Brookfield on the board. Murphy also serves as the director of Conversactions outcomes for the Waukesha County Economic Development Corp., Pewaukee.

Insurance

Stephen Babcock joined Fitzgerald, Clayton, James & Kasten, Mequon, as a producer in the commercial lines department. Babcock has more than 23 years of experience in the insurance industry and most recently worked with Willis Group, London.

Legal Services

Sandy Swartzberg, an attorney in the Brookfield office of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, Madison, will serve as co-chair of the business practice group, with Greg Scallon, an attorney in the Madison office. Swartzberg focuses his practice on business, mergers and acquisitions and estate planning and probate. Scallon focuses his practice on business, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and land use and estate planning.

Von Briesen & Roper, Milwaukee, promoted attorneys John Goller and Rebecca Simoni to shareholders in the firm. Goller is a member of the litigation and risk management practice group. Simoni is a member of the banking, bankruptcy and business restructuring practice group.

John Swimmer joined Godfrey & Kahn, Milwaukee, as an associate in the Indian nations law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Swimmer served as the solicitor general for the Mille Lacs Bands of Chippewa Tribe, Mille Lacs, Minn. He holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from the University of Oklahoma and a law degree from UW-Madison Law School.

Cannella Response Television, Burlington, promoted Peggy Gobel to director of cable media and Jayne Twist to cable media buyer. Gobel most recently served as cable media buyer. Twist most recently served as media assistant.

Tom Gilbert joined The Russ Darrow Automotive Group, Menomonee Falls, as

general manager of the Honda, Nissan, Suzuki and Isuzu dealerships in Milwaukee. Gilbert has 16 years of experience in the automotive industry and most recently served as

general manager of Ferman Automotive Group, Tampa, Fla.

Technology

MasterLink, Menomonee Falls, promoted Matthew Massa to chief technology officer and hired David Southgate as director of engineering. Massa has been with MasterLink for seven years and most recently served as director of engineering. Southgate most recently served as manager of a documentation team with service engineering at GE Healthcare.
