Timothy Christen, CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, has been appointed to serve a three-year term as chair of the Major Firms Group (MFG) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The MFG consists of more than 75 of the nation’s top 100 firms who have 75 or more AICPA members.
RitzHolman CPAs, Milwaukee, is has announced the addition of Marie Jasinski, bookkeeper, and Shelby Pecor, CPA, staff accountant.
Brookfield-based Kolb+Co added new members to its staff. They include: Diane Czubkowski, administrative supervisor; Melissa Hogan, staff accountant; Jeremy Gritton, auditing and accounting; and Denis Dort and Lisa Morgan as administrative assistants.

Banking & Finance

Marshall & Ilsley Corp. hired Andy Will as senior vice president, director of deposits. He will be responsible for M&I’s retail bank deposits including profitability and growth. Kara Kaiser, was also promoted to retail banking regional manager for Southeast Wisconsin.
Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. has named Dan Hawley branch manager of its North Shore office located in Mequon, and James Hodge, associate branch manager of its Milwaukee office.
Heartland Business Bank, Sheboygan, named Tom Steinhaus, manager of credit underwriting/government guaranteed loans, an officer of the bank.
The Equitable Bank, Wauwatosa, has hired Dave Smith as the vice president – senior relationship manager and Michelle Ward as loan servicing manager. Bill Behm has been promoted to bank officer, portfolio manager; Jeff Justin has been promoted to bank officer, relationship manager; Rachel Schwab has been promoted to bank officer marketing; and Tammy Smith, has been promoted bank officer, processing and closing.
First Business Bank, Milwaukee, has announced that W. Kent Lorenz, president of the Midwest region of Ellison Technologies has joined its board of directors.
Community Bank & Trust, Sheboygan, promoted Toni Reed to office president at the Elkhart Lake location. He has been with Community Bank & Trust for five years and has more than 18 years of experience in the banking industry.
Waukesha-based CGK Investment Banking president Thomas Kintis has been appointed to the board of directors of the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI), headquartered in Chicago. In addition, the MBBI has named Kintis to the board of directors of its Wisconsin Chapter, which is establishing a presence in the state.

 

Building & Construction

J. P. Cullen & Sons Inc., Brookfield has promoted Chad Schakelman industrial division manager. He has been with the company for 12 years.

 

Design

Marilynn Dal Porto, Milwaukee property stylist and principal of the design firm A Feathered Nest, was honored with a gold medal for Best Interior Design – Remodel as a part of the 2009 Residential Design Awards competition held by Milwaukee Home & Fine Living magazine.

 

Education

Erica Gumieny has joined the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education as the manager of corporate development.
Donna Gastevich has been appointed vice president for external relations at Mount Mary College, Milwaukee. In her role she will oversee development, alumnae relations, marketing/public relations and the Women’s Leadership Institute for the college.
Giannina Vernon has been hired as a clinical instructor of nursing in Concordia University Wisconsin Mequon’s School of Human Services. Vernon will be responsible for teaching pharmacology to undergraduate nursing students.
The board of directors of St. Thomas More High School, Milwaukee, has announced the appointment of Todd Sobotka to the position of interim chief executive officer of the school.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee has hired Mara Duckens as assistant vice president of financial development. Prior to joining the YMCA, Duc`kens worked at COA Youth & Family Centers as the Director of Development.

 

Health Care

John Corbett, Ph.D., has been appointed chairman and professor of biochemistry at The Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa. Corbett comes to the Medical College from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he was professor of medicine, director of the comprehensive diabetes center and held the Nancy R. and Eugene C. Gwaltney Family Endowed Chair in Juvenile Diabetes Research.
Dr. Dean Klinger has been appointed associate professor of surgery at The Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa. Klinger practices in the general surgery clinic at Community Memorial Medical Commons in Menomonee Falls and serves on the medical staff at Community Memorial Hospital.
Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, has appointed Bev Greenberg president of the Aurora Health Care Foundation. She will lead philanthropy and social responsibility for Aurora and will report to the foundation’s board of directors. Greenberg comes to Aurora after 30 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, team-building, strategic planning, development and marketing.
Advanced Pain Management announced that Dr. Debasish Bhattacharyya, a board-certified pain management physician, neurologist and headache specialist, will be seeing patients once a week at the Pain Centers of Wisconsin-Waukesha, at 813 W. Moreland Blvd.

 

Industrial

Actuant Corp., Butler, has named Sandy Bugbee an officer of the company and promoted her to assistant treasurer. She joined Actuant in 2000.

 

Insurance

Michigan-based Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. announces the appointment of Steve Cooper as president of United Heartland, a national workers compensation insurer based in New Berlin, and a subsidiary of the holding company.
John Manthy was recently added to the staff of Pewaukee-based Integrated Risk Solutions as a benefits account specialist. He brings over 10 years of industry knowledge in Benefits Administration with an emphasis on business development.

Nicholas Infusino has been promoted to a partner with Madrigrano, Aiello & Santarelli LLP, Kenosha. Infusino focuses on civil litigation, business, real estate and employment law.
Kelly Kuglitsch has joined the law firm of Davis & Kuelthau, Milwaukee, as an attorney in its employee benefits practice group.
The Schroeder Group, S.C., Attorneys at Law, Waukesha, announced the addition of Steve Glaser to the firm as a shareholder. Glaser has more than 15 years of experience in the legal industry.
The American Trial Lawyers Association has named Howard B. Schoenfeld, attorney at DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., Brookfield to its 2009 – 2010 Top 100 Trial Lawyers for the state of Wisconsin.

Scott Lucas has been named president and chief operating officer of Racine Metal-Fab in Racine. Lucas formerly served as a division president at Dorner Manufacturing Corp. in Hartland, for 15 years and previously as senior management at Enerpac, an Actuant Company, for 18 years.
DCI Cheese Company, Richfield, has added Michael Sparda, sales director – east coast; Bryan Lehner, staff accountant; Carol Menozzi, merchandiser; and Kristy Klug, marketing communications specialist. In addition, five current employees were promoted: Katie Jury, marketing supervisor; Sue Margelofsky, supply planner; Brian Loch, sales manager; Vivian Long, regional sales manager; and Marilyn Levinsohn, director of import and trade compliance.
