Nickels has worked in the outdoor industry for more than two decades and has experience in all facets of marketing including retail store management, brand-building, visual merchandising, trade shows, product development and consumer-facing environments.

Bray Architects has added Jennifer Comstock, to its Milwaukee office as project team leader. Comstock has design experience in commercial, educational, day care and high rise residential projects.

Hartland-based PDC Midwest, Inc. has hired Jason Hartling, LEED AP as a design associate.

Waterstone Mortgage Corp., Pewaukee, has named Indar Ramadhar as vice president – loan delivery in the company’s corporate office. Ramadhar comes to Waterstone Mortgage with over 20 years of mortgage industry experience. He also brings strong management experience to his new role, having previously managed five operation departments.

Kristin Fritsche has been appointed financial representative by Northwestern Mutual in Brookfield. Alyssa Johnson has been appointed financial representative by Northwestern Mutual in Oak Creek. Both will be associated with Northwestern Mutual Cornerstone Financial Group. As financial representatives, Fritsche and Johnson will join a network of specialists offering a wide array of products.

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP has added Wendy Landrum, to its Milwaukee office as a strategic tax services partner. She has more than 12 years of tax experience.

William Cao has joined Associated Bank as director of corporate intelligence. Cao has more than 16 years of corporate intelligence experience, most recently as vice president of retail analytics and vice president of database marketing and research at BMO Harris Bank in Milwaukee and Chicago. He works out of Associated’s downtown Milwaukee office at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave.

West Bend-based Commerce State Bank has added Sue Miller as assistant vice president of sales & marketing. She has more than 13 years of management and sales experience in the local financial community.

Building & Construction

Hunzinger Construction Company, Brookfield, has named Mike Huebner, project executive with an emphasis in health care. He has more than 28 years of experience as a construction professional in the health care field. He joins Hunzinger Construction from ProHealth Care, where he was director of construction services.

VJS Construction Services, Pewaukee, has hired Joe Widmann as a project manager. He specializes in small to medium-sized projects.

Education

Hilary Vatter has joined the Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, human resources department as the new benefits coordinator. Vatter has 20 years of experience in the Benefits field and most recently worked at Lutheran Home and Harwood Place in Wauwatosa. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree, she graduated from an accredited paralegal program with a focus on tax and employee benefits law.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Kenosha, has announced the appointment of Dr. Dean Yohnk as dean of the newly established College of Arts and Humanities. Yohnk, who currently serves as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will officially begin his duties in July.

The following Alverno College faculty have been promoted to professor: Rebecca Burton, biology; Diane Duffy, nursing; Dan Leister, religious studies; and Peg Rauschenberger, nursing. In addition, the following faculty members have been promoted to associate professor: Desiree Pointer Mace, education; Sherry Seston, biology; and Patti Varga, nursing.

Engineering

GRAEF has named Kevin Wood, structural engineer, a principal of the firm. Wood has been with the firm for more than 17 years, specializing in bridge and transportation design projects for the Milwaukee office’s transportation group. In addition, Chris Carr, Steve Fisco, Beau Sanders and Bob Warren were elected as new associates.

Philip Bain, has joined the Waukesha office of Ayres Associates as a transportation project manager. He has 14 years of experience in project management and design in the engineering and construction phases of transportation projects. Bain was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s for nearly 10 years, providing construction and design project development.

Fitness Centers

Nova Gyms LLC, a 24 hour fitness facility, has hired Nina Anderson to manage both of its corporate owned locations in New Berlin and Oak Creek.

Government Organizations

The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corp. has named Jocelyn Ertel as communications coordinator and office manager. She has an extensive background in communications and marketing and previously served as marcom specialist at Pentair Residential Filtration LLC. Prior to joining Pentair, she was communications coordinator at DuFour Advertising LLC, Sheboygan.

Health Care

Keith Allen has been named senior vice president of human resources and chief human resources officer for Froedtert Health. Allen comes to Froedtert Health from the University of Maryland Medical System where he served as vice president of human resources for seven years. He previously served in human resources leadership roles for Baltimore-based Lifebridge Health, Memorial Health System in Springfield, Illinois, and Pittsburgh-based Allegheny University Hospitals.

Hospitality & Entertainment

Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West, Wauwatosa, has promoted Patrick J. Palmer, to general manager and added Kris Mosier as director of sales. Palmer is a 27-year veteran of the hospitality industry, serving as general manager of the Hawthorne Suites in Kenosha since June of 2000, and then leading its conversion to a Holiday Inn Express in 2007. He assisted in opening the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West in 2008 and was appointed director of sales in 2009.

Legal Services

The National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School has selected Mary Braza, partner and co-chair of Foley & Lardner LLP’s Sports Industry Team, as the recipient of its 2012 Joseph E. O’Neill Award. The award recognizes an individual with a significant contribution to the sports industry while exemplifying the highest ethical standards. Nominations are solicited from the NSLI Board of Advisors and other outside sources. In addition, the American Law Institute has named Foley partner Richard Gallagher as one of its elite life members in recognition of his 25 years of involvement. ALI membership status is regarded as a distinct professional honor, representing individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the law, are of high character and are committed to improving the law.

Grzeca Law Group S.C., Milwaukee, has hired Teodora Zlatkova as an associate focusing on corporate immigration matters.

Management Services

Association Acumen LLC, Milwaukee, has named four new additions to its association management staff. Bill Elliott serves as development director for Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies, one of Acumen’s clients. Sandra Koehler is executive assistant to the president and Andrea Rowe and Kari Fulkerson are new meetings and convention managers.

Manufacturing

Man Lift Mfg. Co., Cudahy, has hired Joe Banks to the position of vice president of operations and manufacturing. Banks is a retired United States Air Force officer, a former military and civilian airline pilot, and an accomplished operations executive with over 35 years of operations and manufacturing experience in diverse industries.

Nonprofit

The United Way of Greater Milwaukee has hired Tim Coughlin as education portfolio manager in its Community Impact division. Coughlin recently relocated from Boston. In addition, Jennifer DeLaura has been promoted to associate director of campaign after previously serving as manager of major accounts and leadership; Lula Miller-Mays has been promoted to manager of major accounts and professionals; Gina Zambito has been promoted to manager of affinity groups and major gifts; Jessica Wagner-Schultz has been promoted to affinity groups coordinator; and Maricella Nayeri has also joined United Way of Greater Milwaukee’s campaign division as coordinator of business development.

Lutheran Home and Harwood Place have added Robert Sowinski, chief executive officer of Diversified Insurance Services and Steven Volz, partner at Reilly Penner and Benton LLP to its board of directors. Lutheran Home Foundation Board also added Timothy Reardon, attorney at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C., and Karen Hug, financial representative for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as new directors.

Milwaukee Succeeds, the cradle-to-career educational partnership that aims to improve educational outcomes for all students in Milwaukee, has hired Mike Soika as its first director. Soika will lead and direct the work of the partnership by continuing to recruit and engage partner organizations, oversee the work of the various committees and continue to move the partnership forward. Soika has spent the last seven years as vice president of social responsibility and mission impact at the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.

Milwaukee-based Mensa of Wisconsin Inc., the high IQ society, has elected the following officers: Ellen Voie, local secretary; Ed Carmo, deputy local secretary; Magie Brady, secretary; and Rick Leichtfuss, treasurer.

Printing

Milwaukee-based Vibrant Graphics has promoted Alex Dott to the position of production control manager. Prior to his promotion, Dott served the company as prepress and design team leader. In his new position, he will oversee the entire production process.

Publishing

Milwaukee-based Logan Productions Inc., has hired Gabriel Spaulding as lead video editor. Spaulding joins the Logan Productions team with more than ten years of industry experience. He has worked as a freelance videographer, editor, motion graphics artist and musician, producing a wide range of material for both corporate and non-profit organizations.

OFFPRICE Show, Brookfield, a subsidiary of Tarsus Group plc, Dublin, has hired Kara Bushman as buyer relations coordinator. She previously worked as a business and marketing relationship manager at ShutterBox Entertainment, Milwaukee.

Professional Services

Milwaukee-based Patient Care has hired Irene Bojar as director of account management; Jeff Mischler as director of information department and Megan Kressin as the social media and communication specialist.

Technology

Skyline Technologies Inc., Green Bay, has named Sandy Cushman senior business analyst in the company’s Pewaukee office. Cushman comes to Skyline with nearly 20 years of business analysis and leadership experience. She most recently worked at AQS, Inc. in Hartford.

Milwaukee-based Red Arrow Labs, has hired Jenn Haack as an information architect, Melissa Kraner as a QA analyst and Mark Servais as senior software engineer.
