IFF, a Chicago-based nonprofit facilities lender, recently selected Lanie Wasserman to be director of Wisconsin operations and run its newly formed Milwaukee office. Prior to joining IFF, Wasserman served as chief operating officer for Legacy Redevelopment Corporation, a Legacy Bank affiliate.

Bank Mutual recently hired Tom Vandemortel as vice president commercial banker at its Commercial Banking Center in Wauwatosa; Layne Burns as vice president investment real estate loan officer at its Investment Real Estate center in Brookfield; and Beverly Garves as bank office manager at its Franklin location. 

Johnson Financial Group, Racine, recently named Paul Bertling, assistant vice president, marketing relationship manager for Milwaukee and the northeast region of the state.

Robert W. Baird & Company, Milwaukee, recently hired Peter Gunderson as director of principal trading. Gunderson joins Baird with nearly 20 years of industry experience.

John Haugh recently joined WaterStone Bank, Wauwatosa, as senior mortgage loan officer. He has more than 34 years of experience in the financial industry.

Building & Construction

David Mangan recently returned to CG Schmidt as a traveling senior superintendent, and ChaChi Gallo has joined the firm as network administrator. Kyle Mainwaring was also recently promoted to assistant project manager, and Mark Lillesand has been promoted to operations executive. 

Ryan West has joined Mortenson Construction’s Brookfield office as a safety engineer. Prior to joining the Wisconsin team, West worked with Mortenson’s Energy group. 

Distribution

W.O.W. Distributing Inc., Sussex, recently promoted Mark Hauer to on-premise division manager. 

Education

Stephen Kuhn was recently named vice president for institutional advancement at Carroll University. Prior to receiving the position, Kuhn was vice president for institutional advancement at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill., for 10 years.

Brenda L. Jones, CPA, MBA, was recently added as controller/business manager at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). Melissa Dorn

Richards was hired as director of cultural & alumni, and Sara Blair was hired as coordinator of disability services.

Lori Bergen, professor and the director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University-San Marcos, was recently appointed dean of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication at Marquette University.

Concordia University Wisconsin’s School of Pharmacy recently named Lesley Luehrs as its director of student services. Luehrs previously managed the student recruiting process and internship programs for GE Healthcare.

Government Organizations

Gov. Jim Doyle recently announced the appointment of West Allis Mayor Dan Devine to the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board of Directors. 

Downtown Racine’s Business Improvement District (BID) #1 recently announced that Dean Rosenberg of Racine Optical Company has been appointed to the BID Board of Directors. The BID Board also elected Brian Lucareli, senior vice president managing director of wealth advisory services for Johnson Bank, Mark Levine, a downtown property owner, and Thom Bowen, a downtown property owner, to serve as officers.

Brenda Cooper was recently appointed BID manager of Milwaukee’s Business Improvement District #27 (Sherman Boulevard-60th Street).

Brian Williams-VanKlooster was recently appointed branch manager at Villard Avenue Library, 3310 W. Villard Ave., Milwaukee. Williams-VanKlooster began his career with the Milwaukee Public Library in 2004 as a reference librarian at the Central Library.

Health Care

William Pauers, executive director of Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center, S.C., Milwaukee, was recently named president of the Wisconsin Medical Group Management Association

Aileen Rosenberg and Jill Pocius recently joined Advanced Pain Management’s Racine office as nurse practitioners. 

Patient Care, Milwaukee, recently welcomed John Chamberlain, vice president of Capital One Bank in New Orleans, to its board of directors.

Sue Ela, executive vice president of Aurora Health Care and president of Aurora’s metro region, recently received a 2009 TEMPO Mentor award from TEMPO Milwaukee. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated commitment to helping others achieve their potential.

Dr. Stacey Gardiner, was recently appointed assistant professor of medicine in the division of cardiovascular medicine at The Medical College of Wisconsin and to the medical staff of Froedtert Hospital.

R&R Insurance Services, Inc., Waukesha, recently announced that Karen Sturm has joined their Group Health Benefits team.

Legal Services

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C., Milwaukee, recently named attorneys Lucien Beaudry, James Denis III, Willem Noorlander, Meghan Shannon, and Ryan Stippich as firm shareholders.

Quarles & Brady LLC, Milwaukee, recently announced that Patricia Hutter, a partner in the firm’s corporate services practice group, was named executive leader of the United Performing Arts Fund Next Generation Council. Attorney Katherine Maloney Perhach, a partner with the firm’s commercial litigation practice, was also recently appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to the Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities.

Jack DeWitt, a senior civil litigator and founder of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, recently received the 2009 Leonard L. Loeb Award. The Senior Lawyers Division Board of Directors of the State Bar of Wisconsin presents this highest service award to a senior lawyer who has “improved the legal system and who has shown leadership in advancing the quality of justice for all.” DeWitt Ross & Stevens, has offices in Madison and Brookfield.

The Gauthier Law Group LLC., Milwaukee, recently hired Kollin Petrie and Morgan Anderson as legal assistants.

Manufacturing

Wind Mill Slatwall Products, Sheboygan Falls, recently added Travis Kelly to the maintenance position for the company. Previous to joining Wind Mill, Travis held a position with the JL French Company, Sheboygan.

Sprecher Brewing Company recently hired Brandy Day, a University of Wisconsin-Madison trained microbiologist, to oversee its laboratory and maintain the requisite quality and consistency in all its products. After successful completion of her training, Day will assume the position of quality control manager.
