Johnson Direct LLC, Brookfield, recently added Stacey Smart as public relations account executive. Prior to joining Johnson Direct Smart was a product manager for a company that designs and manufactures products used in FDA-regulated biomedical research environments.

WaterStone Bank, Wauwatosa, recently promoted Jack Kahl to assistant vice president of real estate disposition and Mark Vap to assistant vice president – assistant general counsel.

Building & Construction

Kai Ellestad has joined Mortenson Construction Company’s Wisconsin operations in Brookfield as an integrated construction coordinator.

Education

Ryan Daniels was recently appointed director of development at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Milwaukee. He most recently served as vice president of campaign at United Way of Greater Milwaukee. MIAD also recently appointed Latrisa Giles to the position of human resources coordinator. In addition, the Industrial Designers Society of America elected John Caruso, associate professor of Industrial Design, to its 2009/2010 Board of Directors and Education Council.

Health Care

Dr. Calvin Williams was recently appointed an associate director of Children’s Research Institute, Wauwatosa. He is also the D.B. and Marjorie Reinhart Chair in Rheumatology at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and an associate professor of pediatrics (Microbiology and Molecular Genetics) and section chief of pediatric rheumatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Linda Lofye, was recently promoted to director of clinical services for Children’s Community Health Plan. Lofye joined Children’s Community Health Plan in July 2008 as senior utilization management/case management nurse.

Froedtert & Community Health, Wauwatosa, recently appointed two new members to its board of directors. They include: Kevin Steiner, president and CEO of West Bend Mutual Insurance Company, and Richard Leitheiser, community bank president of M&I Bank in West Bend.

Insurance

Carol Willick recently joined G2 Insurance Services, Inc., Brookfield, as a commercial producer. She brings 22 years of experience in insurance sales to the firm and specializes in dealing with insurance programs for municipalities.

Legal Services

The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Steven J. Berryman, a partner with the firm, has been named chair of the firm’s commercial litigation practice for the Milwaukee office. 

DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., recently announced the additions of Shawn Govern, partner, George Mistrioty; Kevin Scott; and Marc Adesso, paralegal, to the firm’s Brookfield office.           

Manufacturing

Nick Brunet was recently named a senior quality technician at Church Metal Spinning Company, Milwaukee. Brunet has six years of experience in the field, most recently with California-based Scantibodies Laboratories. 

Wixon, St. Francis, recently named Jodi Nelsen to the position of executive & sales assistant. Nelsen previously served as an executive assistant at the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. 

Media

Cannella Response Television, Burlington, recently announced that Christi Anderson has been promoted to media consultant from media assistant. Anderson joined Cannella in October 2007 from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, where she was a marketing coordinator.

Real Estate

Shorewest Realtors, Brookfield, recently welcomed back sales associates Alicia Stiller and Cedrecia Pena to its Kenosha office. Combined they bring more then 15 years of experience to the office.  

 Training and Development

Doris Appelbaum, chief executive officer and president of Appelbaum’s Resume Professionals, Inc., Glendale, and a graduate from Hostra University with a BA – English/Journalism and an MS – Secondary Education, has been named the school’s Alumna of the Month.
