Penrod to open office in Portland, plans to double staff next year

Company aims to double in size in 2020

Milwaukee-based Penrod will open an office in Portland and plans to double its ranks by 2020, the company announced Wednesday.

Penrod is a provider of custom-built Salesforce solutions and has offices in Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Dallas. The company has approximately 65 employees and plans to hire 70 more employees across all of its offices in 2020, said Chris Widmayer, chief executive officer of Penrod.

In 2019, 50% of Penrod’s growth was on the West Coast, prompting Penrod’s expansion into Portland, Widmayer said.

“We’re a growth-focused company and needed to meet the demand of our partners and clients,” said Drew Thornsberry, chief revenue officer. “We’re excited not only to complement Portland’s outstanding culture, but also support more West Coast Salesforce clients as we double in size next year.”

The company offers Salesforce solutions for several industries including healthcare, life sciences, field service, manufacturing and technology. Penrod also develops and implements marketing automation, cloud data management, field service and managed services.

“We focus on all aspects of the Salesforce platform, from Sales & CPQ, to Service & Communities, and beyond,” said Thornsberry. “It’s this depth and breadth of expertise that has helped us grow our offices first in the Midwest, then the South, and now the West Coast.”

Penrod had plans to open in office in Atlanta in 2017, but the office never came to fruition. Instead, the company chose to focus on its current offices and as a result, the company added 15 to 20 positions in Milwaukee over 2019, Widmayer added.

“We decided to double down on our health and life sciences business,” Widmayer said. “And at that time, the Atlanta area wasn’t a right fit for us.”

Details on the new office’s location will be released in the coming weeks.
