What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? I like to always train for something to avoid falling into a routine. In the spring and summer I’ll run, bike or swim daily in training for triathlons. In the fall and winter, I’ll cross-country ski when I can or cross train in preparation for the Birkebeiner.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any? Wisconsin Athletic Club, Western Racquet Club

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? Fitness has taught me how set goals and work towards them. It is fufilling to finish a race after having trained for months and months. It also is a big stress reliver for me during the day.

How does personal fitness affect your work life? I try to fit in my workouts in the morning before work but mostly during the noon lunch hour. It’s a good break in the day and sets the stage for the afternoon.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? We help educate children through interactive play and are considering starting a few kid’s health programs and classes this year.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? Start with a plan and set some goals. If needed, work with a good, qualified trainer or training partner to keep you on track and motivated.
