Pathfinders names new partnership award winner

Organizations:

Pathfinders and Southeastern Youth & Family Services have selected Jim Marks to receive their newly renamed 2012 Jim Ryan Community Partnership Award.

The Community Partnership award was renamed this year in honor of the late Jim Ryan’s efforts in connecting Pathfinders and Southeastern several years ago.
“The impact and connections both Jim Ryan and Jim Marks have made in the community have been truly inspirational.” said Dan Magnuson, Pathfinder’s president and CEO.  “Jim Marks’ devotion to addressing important community problems and supporting the Greater Milwaukee nonprofit sector establishes him as an indispensable leader of the Milwaukee community. His support over the years has been of great significance to Pathfinders.”
“Jim Ryan’s core commitment was to ensure that all youth have an opportunity to a healthy and meaningful future,” said Edward Konkol, Southeastern’s interim executive director. “He worked tirelessly from the very beginning to establish group homes as part of today’s social service system; he was influential helping Southeastern get its start.”
The award will be presented on Thursday, April 26, 2012, where Pathfinders and Southeastern will be hosting “Taking It to the Streets”, an evening of celebration and appreciation at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Milwaukee West in Wauwatosa.
“I am very pleased to be able to present this award to Jim Marks.  I know that Jim would be very proud to have him receive this first award!” said Lisa Ryan, Jim Ryan’s widow.  “They were great friends and golfing buddies.”  Ryan was Hales Corners village president and Penfield Children’s Center president when he passed away in 2007.
