Sandy Pasch, a state Assemblywoman from Whitefish Bay since her 2008 election, confirms she’ll challenge GOP Sen. Alberta Darling in a likely recall election this summer.
Pasch filed with the state Government Accountability Board today for a recall election that could take place on July 12, barring legal challenges.
Darling, the Joint Finance Committee co-chair, has been preparing for a recall election for weeks, raising tens of thousands of dollars and running positive radio ads. Republicans maintain she won’t be easy to beat.
A Pasch rally is set for 2 p.m. Friday in Cahill Park.
Pasch and Darling are set for separate interviews on Sunday’s “UpFront with Mike Gousha.”
The recall election could be one of nine throughout the state this summer — a result of the fight over collective bargaining and the state budget.
