Pregnancy Support Connection to host sweetheart fashion show
Waukesha-based Pregnancy Support Connection will host its first ever Sweetheart Fashion Show on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Pregnancy Support Connection services for at risk teenage girls facing unplanned crisis pregnancies.
“Our guests will experience hand-picked pieces from select designers chosen by local boutiques that have their finger on the pulse of fashion across the nation and the world,” said Nancy Major, executive director of Pregnancy Support Connection.
Two attendees at the event will be selected to win prize packages and a complete makeover before getting the chance to walk the runway with the other models.
“We’re excited to enjoy significant support from the fashion community for this inaugural show,” Major said.
Tickets for the event are $35 and include fashion show and lunch. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. for more information check out the PSC Facebook page.

Northwestern Mutual Foundation awards healthy habit grants
 “If we can persuade kids to eat healthier, get active and avoid drinking and drugs, we’ll lay the groundwork for healthier generations in the long-term,” said Deanna Tillisch, vice president for Northwestern Mutual Foundation t. “That’s why we’re so passionate about supporting some of the best nonprofits that teach kids healthy habits early on.”
Organizations receiving the grants include the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee and Milwaukee County Park System; Action for Healthy Kids, American Lung Association, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Children’s Hospital and Health System; Children’s Hospital Foundation, Common Threads, Growing Power, Inc., IMPACT,  Neighborhood House of Milwaukee, Our Next Generation, Sajai Foundation, and the YMCA of the USA.
“The best way to make Milwaukee families active is to make healthy living easy and entertaining,” said Donna Bembenek, senior vice president of marketing and fund development, YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. “By planning events in Milwaukee’s excellent neighborhood parks, we’ll show Milwaukeeans just how simple it is to get fit and have fun.”
