Chambers to present Milwaukee County Executive candidate forum
The South Suburban Chamber, with the Wauwatosa, Greenfield and West Allis/West Milwaukee Chambers in cooperation with MATC-West will host a forum for the two final candidates for Milwaukee County Executive on Friday, March 11.
The candidates are philanthropist Chris Abele and state Rep. Jeff Stone (R-Greendale). The general election will take place April 5.
The forum will be held at the MATC West Campus at 1200 S. 71st Street, Room 107/117. The morning will begin with registration, coffee and rolls at 7:30 a.m. The forum will begin at 8 a.m. with opening comments.
Members of the chambers hosting the forum are encouraged to contact their respective chambers to register to attend.

MATC to host annual Green Energy Summit

The Milwaukee Area Technical College will host the eight annual Green Energy Summit at the Frontier Airlines Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Wednesday, March 9 through Sunday, March 12.
The summit is a collaboration of business, education and government entities and will highlight local, national and international speakers including Will Allen, director of Growing Power, C.S. Kiang, chairman of the Sustainable Development Technology Foundation and founding dean of the College of Environmental Sciences at Beijing University.
Workshops and field trips will be offered on Saturday, March 12. Last year’s summit attracted more than 2,700 registrations and approximately 200 speakers. The theme of this year’s summit is “The Green Frontier: Historic Changes, Unprecedented Opportunities,” and will focus on promoting investment, development and education for the green global economy. Registration is $250 for the full conference or $125 for one day; students will be admitted free of charge.
