During the day, Tenia Smith is the director of community partnerships at Greater Holy Temple Christian Academy. After school, she is director of health and wellness for Social X MKE, a diversity, equity and inclusion consulting group. She is also the lead captain of Social X MKE’s FEAR (Forget Everything And Run) program.
FEAR focuses on diversity, prioritizes runner safety and works to bridge the fitness gap by introducing running as a method of being active, while building relationships. Smith was the track and cross-country coach at Rufus King High School for 11 years.
“Tenia’s dedication to children and the community is truly inspiring. Through her work, she has empowered countless young athletes, providing them with mentorship and opportunities to excel. Her unwavering commitment to her passion has not only made a local impact but has also garnered global attention,” said Teej Boone, program manager at Sherman Phoenix. “Tenia’s authenticity and dedication to staying true to herself have inspired many, both within and beyond our community.”
