Lesli Boese, deputy district attorney for Waukesha County, worked on the prosecution and trial of Darrell Brooks, who was found guilty of killing six people and injuring dozens of others after driving his SUV through the Waukesha Christmas Parade in 2021.
Boese not only carries a full caseload, but also mentors staff and interns and takes calls from law enforcement for advice. She has been involved in training law enforcement officers on legal issues for the past 23 years and teaches college courses on criminal evidence and constitutional law topics.
She also speaks to community organizations and citizens. The impact Boese has had as head of the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Drug Unit is huge, said Lowell Carl, president and chief executive officer of Lowell T. Carl & Associates.
“She is very proud in her efforts in keeping street drugs out of Waukesha County, and successfully prosecuting anyone who makes the mistake of coming into Waukesha County to engage in drug dealing,” said Carl.
