According to colleagues, Ann Jacobs, founder of Milwaukee-based Jacobs Injury Law S.C., embodies the characteristics of an excellent litigator: outstanding trial skills, thorough pretrial preparation and compassion.
Jacobs began her career in 1992 as a public defender and later joined a private practice as a trial attorney, advocating for the rights of the injured. She opened Jacobs Injury Law in 2013. The firm’s practice areas include automobile accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect cases, financial abuse and fraud, and medical malpractice cases.
“Ann is recognized for her willingness to take on tough cases that other attorneys may decline, including complicated sexual assault cases, elder abuse cases and cases on behalf of undocumented persons, championing their right to bring a claim without jeopardizing their status,” said Carol Wessels, attorney at Wessels & Liebau LLC.
As chair of the Wisconsin Elections Commission during the 2020 presidential election, Jacobs guided the Commission through both the challenges of COVID-19 and the litigation surrounding that election. Jacobs is a past president of the Wisconsin Association for Justice and a founding member of the organization’s Women’s Caucus, which began in 2007. She also mentors female attorneys in the early stages of their careers.
